What with Facebook, Flickr, and other fine venues for stalking "exes," breakups aren't nearly as final as they once were. But for your own good, please stop following them around cyberspace. "Conventional wisdom, and even science, has it that cutting off contact with an ex makes for a smoother recovery," writes Tracy Clark-Flory at Salon. And she knows the struggle all too well, having tracked an ex from Flickr to Twitter until she realized that the ring on his finger wasn't "merely an engagement ring."

Facebook’s ongoing war on pseudonyms is well-documented. The company wants everyone to use their real name on the social network, and ideally this would be their only identity on the Internet. The site "Adopte un mec.fr" -- "Adopt a guy" in English -- plans to take the show on the road, The Local.fr reported. The temporary Paris store closes Sept. 21 and other stores will open this fall in Brussels, in Laussane, Switzerland and then in Lyon and Toulouse back in France.

The men for the store were selected from hundreds of volunteers who had signed up on "Adopte un mec." The aim was variety, ranging from a surfer to a geek.

"For once the girls can choose the boys and put them in their shopping basket," said Thomas Pawlawski, the website marketing director. "We use supermarket vocabulary."

Some women seem to enjoy the opportunity.

"We're taking our revenge! For once it's us who has the power to look and choose which one we want," one told the newspaper Le Parisien.
